It is hard to believe this is the last newsletter of the year! This month absolutely flew!!! Much like the entire year!
I cannot believe how much the class has grown in 9 short months! It has been so much fun and such a pleasure to see each and every one of them develop and change!
We started the month with caterpillars, butterflies, and the lifecycle. We focused a lot on the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It gave the kids something to relate to as we witnessed our very own classroom caterpillars grow and change and transition. It was hard not think about your own children and how they have changed so much in the classroom.
We wrapped up the month talking about the farm. We explored books about the farm and talked about the different animals we find on the farm. I hope the children brought home the sounds the animals make on the farmů You're welcome!
We have touched on so much this year it would be hard to summarize it all. I think the accomplishment I am most proud of with this class is helping build our own little community in the classroom. We worked hard on learning our friend's names, waiting our turn, sharing our things and manners, manners, manners!! We learned how to work together, how to stay on schedule, and how to use our words. We were assigned jobs (and really loved them), we listened to our teachers, and we learned how to clean up. We said goodbye to old friends and we welcomed new friends! In all these processes we had SO MUCH FUN!! This class showed compassion for one another and noticed when "members" of our community were missing. They were such a great group both individually and together. Mrs. Troy and I appreciate you sharing them with us!
We hope you all have a wonderful summer! Best of luck in new adventures for next year! Mrs. Troy and I will miss all of you!!
