The school year has gone by so quickly! It is hard to believe that the school year is coming to a close! The children have been busy working on letter and number recognition as well as letter sounds. It has been great seeing their academic growth since the beginning of the school year.
I would encourage you to continue working on letter recognition as well as the sounds that the letters make. Point out letters in books or things around the house and ask your child identify the letter and if it is an object then ask what letter the object begins with. Continuing to review these concepts will help them stay sharp and be ready when they start kindergarten in September.
The children enjoyed learning about the animals on the farm and what products we get from these animals. We had a great time at Coverdale Farm. The weather wasn't perfect, but we were able to spend a lot of time with the animals and learned lots of new things. I was impressed that the whole class was willing to feed the sheep!!
May 21st is our final day of school. Please join us at Sam's house after school for an end of the year picnic. Address information will be in their baskets. Please provide a bagged lunch for your child and I will be bringing a sweet treat!
It has been a pleasure teaching your children this year!!
