December is here! Hard to believe. Seeing snow already is also hard to believe! We have been busy this month with letter writing and letter recognition. Please keep practicing at home. The children did a great job on a counting/number recognition worksheet last week. It involved scissor skills as well, so it was good to get that practice in too. We have also been busy working on some "secret" parent gifts too!
We have lunch bunch with Santa on Monday the 16th. The cost is $8.00 and that includes lunch which is pizza, carrots, a drink and a cookie. We will be eating in our classroom and Santa will be briefly visiting our classroom. It is nice to have lunch with our friends. The sign-up sheet is posted outside of the classroom and the pick-up time is at 1:15pm.
Registration for Friday specials is on the 11th. This is for a 12-week session. Registration forms went home a few weeks ago. A fifty-dollar deposit is required and registration is done during drop off time in the lobby. On December 20th, we have chapel with parents. Please come see what we do in chapel. Chapel will take place at 9:15am in the sanctuary.
On December 20th, we will be having our holiday class party. Please have your child bring in a new coloring book for a gift exchange. If your child is a boy, please bring in a wrapped coloring book labeled "boy" and if your child is a girl, please being in a wrapped coloring book labeled "girl". You can find inexpensive coloring books at the dollar store or at the dollar spot in Target.
On December 18th, we will be having our Holiday Show in the sanctuary at 10:00am with a social time immediately after. A parent our guardian must attend because dismissal is immediately following the show. The show will most likely be over by 11:00am. Please plan accordingly. Please have your child wear something nice that day to school. Your child will be dismissed from the classroom and then you may take them down to the social time in the big room.
Concordia is closed beginning on the 23rd of December and will reopen on January 3rd. Merry Christmas!
