It is hard to believe that it is October already! We have been busy in our classroom. We are currently learning about the letter Ee. When we are working on our letter of the week, we learn to recognize the letter, but we also learn about the sound it makes and what words start with the letter. We practice writing the letters in an alphabet book that stays at school. I would encourage you to practice letter recognition at home as well. Even just pointing to letters that you see in books or while you are out with your child helps. We are learning about pumpkins and their life cycle as well as changes we see in the fall.
The Scholastic Book Fair is this week in the big room. Be sure to check it out! Great selection of books. There is a Chick-Fil-A fundraiser on the 26th. Stop in anytime between 12:00 and 7:00. Please mention Concordia Preschool when ordering.
The weather has cooled down this week. Please remember to send in a warm coat as we continue to go outside weather permitting.
Our field trip to Ramsey's Farm is on Friday. Please have your child dress appropriately for the weather as we will be outside the entire morning. Sneakers are strongly suggested.
We will be participating in the Halloween Parade on Monday, October 30th at 9:15. The parade starts upstairs at the church's main entrance and we parade down to the bottom parking lot. The bottom lot will be closed for parking at drop off, so please park in the upper parking lot. Please have your child wear their clothes underneath their costume and send a bag in for their costume when we change out of it for our class party. A sign-up sheet for our party will be posted in on Friday.
If you have any questions - please don't hesitate to ask!
