Happy February! We had a busy start to 2019 and have a busy month ahead. The children loved sharing their art projects with you at the Art Fair Friday night! Thank you all for coming out to support Concordia's teachers and children!
Our Valentine Party will be on Wed. February 13th. Since decorating the Christmas cookies was such a hit, we will celebrate by decorating Valentine cookies! There is a sign-up sheet next to the door for a few items we will need. We will be decorating Valentine bags in class. When doing your Valentine cards for the class, it is best if you do not put the children's names on the outside of the envelopes, but just sign the inside - that makes it easier for everyone to deliver their cards. Please do not to attach any candy to the cards.
This month we will be moving along in the alphabet to Q, R, S and T. We will also continue working on number recognition, one-to-one number correspondence, cutting with scissors and writing our names. We have been playing Number Bingo and Memory games in class which has been a lot of fun. We are also having a lot of fun at circle time with the estimating jar, patterning, and lots of winter songs and poems.
We still try to get outside every day, even when it is cold. On days it is simply too cold or the playground is snow covered, we will get outside for a walk or go to the Big Room to play with the scooters, balls and hoola-hoops to burn off some energy.
